ComedyComedy Country presents The County Comedy Project—an 8-week zero-to-hero...
Melt Studio + Gallery is excited to announce its first group exhibition of the season: Renewal. This juried group show, held in the main gallery, features work by entirely Canadian artists.
As the snow melts, the days stretch longer, and the world stirs with new energy, Melt has invited artists from across Canada to explore the theme of renewal in their annual Spring show. This season of transformation is not just about nature’s revival—it’s about fresh starts, shifting perspectives, and the spark of possibility. Each of the pieces included in the show has been carefully selected for their relevance to these themes and their artistic integrity. Each year, Melt Studio + Gallery opens its season with the Renewal group juried art exhibition. Find a renewed sense of hope after a long winter in this exhibition.
Curated by local encaustic artist Susan Wallis and featuring works by members of Melt’s artist roster and selected guest artists, this exhibition will run from May 16th–June 15th, 2025 in the main gallery space. The gallery is open Friday–Sunday from 11 AM–5 PM. Any other open hours are by appointment or chance.
The gallery has planned an exciting array of solo and group exhibitions for the upcoming season, including multidisciplinary artist Glen Wallis’ first solo exhibition at Melt: Fleeting, inspired by the traditional process of quilt-making. Also on view at Melt from May 16th-June 15th, the idea for his “Quilt” series was born from a love of textiles and handcraft, translating the comforting structure of quilts into a visual, painterly language. Wallis has always enjoyed sewing and has his maternal grandmother’s Bernina sewing machine — a cherished heirloom that symbolizes his deep-rooted affection for this craft.
All are welcome to join for the public opening reception for these exhibitions on Saturday, May 17th from 1–4 PM. Many of the artists will be in attendance. This event is free.
