COVID-19

During the COVID-19 pandemic our office will be temporarily closed, however we are still working to serve artists, arts organizations and the public.

Spring/Summer Programming:

Public Art Grant Program now supports online projects! Successful projects will be announced in early June.
Art in the County moves online June 19-July 31, 2020. Artist Entry deadline June 5.
Our What’s On listing is being updated with local online events, exhibitions and workshops.
Winners of the 2nd Annual Wind & Water Writing Contest will be announced at the end of May.

Cancellations:

Artwork in County Collection will not be swapped out on May 6 & 7 as planned, but will remain in place until the fall.
The Maker’s Hand will not proceed in 2020 as planned. Applicants were notified by email on May 19.

Annual General Meeting Notice to Members:

Virtual meeting on May 28 at 3PM. Email Janna to RSVP.

Federal Government’s Arts Sector Assistance:

In his press conference on April 15, the Prime Minister said that Minister Guilbeault had brought up the challenges of the arts and cultural sector on access to the Canada Emergency Response Benefit (CERB), as well as the importance of artists at this time of physical distancing. Here are the key changes:

Emergency Support Fund for Culture, Heritage & Sport Organizations

Phase 1: existing recipients through Canadian Heritage’s arts and culture programs
Phase 2: other arts and culture organizations that do not currently receive funding from Canadian Heritage or another participating federal agency (Canada Council for the Arts, Canada Media Fund, Telefilm Canada)
