Our hands-on arts courses and workshops at the County Arts Lab return in September — and registration is now open! This session is full of inspiring ways to get creative. Whether you’re looking to explore a new art form or get your kids involved in something fun and creative, there’s something for everyone this season!
On Tuesday afternoons, Allison Nichol Longtin returns with an all-new edition of Writing Life into Being, filled with fresh prompts and inspiration. Julie Seddon leads Composition and Colour in Acrylic Painting, where you’ll expand your painterly vision through brushwork and colour exploration. And for those just beginning their artistic journey, Irene Götz is back with Drawing for Absolute Beginners, one of our most popular courses!
We’re thrilled to welcome new instructor Jamie Janx Johnston, who brings Introduction to Street Art to the Lab — a 6-week youth program diving into the history and culture of urban art, from graffiti to murals and beyond.
For kids, Sara Keller returns with Kids’ Creation Club: Art Installation 101 – Colour Play! Every week, participants will contribute to a collaborative artwork that will be publicly displayed at The Department of Illumination’s Firelight Lantern Festival this November!
And don’t miss our incredible lineup of workshops! From Memory Maps with Megan Fitzgerald and a Procreate Workshop with Irene Götz, to Victorian Puzzle Purse and Crisscross Bookbinding with Lucy Sterezylo, there are plenty of chances to get creative and try something new. Plus, check out our 2-day workshops – Make Your Mark: Rust Lab 101 with Claire Tallarico and Bold Strokes, Open Skies with Bogdan Luca!
