Celebrate the opening of the SHED STUDIO at SHED Chetwyn Farms, with the opening night reception of an exhibition of work by Toronto-based textile artist Amanda McCavour – one of six winners of the Rewilding Arts Prize presented by the David Suzuki Foundation and Rewilding Magazine. Her re-imagined mini-installation of “Ode to a Prairie” is the first exhibition in the newly conceived SHED STUDIO.
Marking a new chapter for Chetwyn Farms, their goal is to celebrate and showcase extraordinary fibre and textile artists. Using plants as markers of memory and place, Amanda’s work invites viewers to consider the past and the future of our natural environments. Although specifically about the prairie restoration movement in Wisconsin, “Ode to a Prairie” speaks to broader ideas of rewilding and has the ability to make us aware of our own natural surroundings closer to home.
The opening night reception and launch party take place Friday May 23rd, 2025 from 5-7 PM. The exhibition runs until Sunday June 8th. Free to attend. Click here to RSVP.
