Spring at the Lab

Artscene March 2023 Edition

Spring at the Lab
Ceramic Exploration for the Garden with Andrea Piller

Registration is now OPEN for our Early Spring session at the County Arts Lab! And we have some additional exciting news, the County Arts Lab is moving! We will still be in the Picton Armoury, but across the hall in Unit 1E. This move is allowing us to consolidate the office and the Lab into one location. All of our early spring courses will take place in Unit 1E (except for classes scheduled at the Picton Town Hall). We can’t wait to welcome you into our new light-filled creative space, entrance is on the exterior of the building, from the rear of the Armoury come around the side closest to the Library to find us!

This Early Spring session has unique, spring-appropriate courses – from 1-day workshops to multi-week courses in dance/movement, painting, drama, textile arts, ceramics, silk screen printing, and more.

We have four multi-week offerings for adults this session including the return of Creative Movement for Adults with Catelyn Thornton, now taking place at our beautiful County Arts Lab satellite location – the Picton Town Hall. If you were lucky enough to take Catelyn’s course last fall, she is changing up the activities so it’s worth joining again!

We are also excited to welcome back both Bethany Garner for an exciting course in indigo dyeing and shibori and Jodi Shuster who will be teaching a botanical focused drawing and painting course.

And Andrea Piller is joining us again for another exploration of earthenware clay pieces for the garden.

We have two workshops both taught by new instructors to the County Arts Lab, Lucy Sterezylo and Yasmine Louis!

At the start of April Lucy will lead a workshop on the beautiful art of Pysanky, Ukrainian Egg Decorating. And at the end of April Yasmine Louis will join us to lead a full day workshop on silk screen printing- perfect for anyone who is curious to try out this fun technique!
