Scarecrow Festival

Artscene October 2022 Edition

Scarecrow Festival
Ramona and the Scarecrow at the annual Scarecrow Festival, hosted by The Department of Illumination.

The Department of Illumination presents Prince Edward County’s 12th annual Scarecrow Festival this upcoming Thanksgiving weekend. Make your very own scarecrow to take home with all supplies provided for $40! With a barn full of clothes and a mountain of straw with which to craft a character, the Scarecrow festival has seen a lot of weird and wonderful scarecrows created over the last dozen years.

All proceeds benefit The Department of Illumination, a not-for-profit arts organization celebrating their 10th anniversary this year. The Scarecrow Festival is part of THE NEXT TEN, their first major fundraising campaign in their decade-long history, as the organization strives for a more sustainable future to ensure they can keep bringing joy and creativity to Prince Edward County for the next ten years and beyond.

The annual Scarecrow Festival has become one of the County’s most beloved events of the season. Come on out for a creative experience the whole family can enjoy!

Rain or shine, October 8th and 9th from 11 AM-5 PM, 337 Clarke Road, Picton.
