Rhonda Nolan is a contemporary mixed media artist based in Bloomfield. Her work is strongly influenced by her relationship to expressive street art and textural mark making. For many years, she coordinated an art program for inner city homeless people in Toronto, understanding that this particular style of art frees one of judgment and encourages ‘letting go’ of inhibitions. Textural collage and mark making are her strong characteristics. Her objective is always to challenge herself and go further in her explorations, in order to create a necessary tension that renders a wonderful chaos to the finished work.
Featured here is Rhonda’s mixed media piece titled that beautiful feeling, which recently won an Honourable Mention at Art in the County. The online exhibition is on now until July 4th.
Rhonda is also inviting people to her property for a curbside experience of her fun and colourful banners and tree stumps, on display now until the end of summer. Call or text ahead at 613-403-3815 to also view Rhonda’s artwork inside her studio along with t-shirts, cards, books, and more. Located at 14 Duncan Street, Bloomfield.
