BIGLAKE Arts is pleased to welcome the guitar quartet, Quartet Malamatina, to perform in Prince Edward County for the first time! They are celebrated for their “immensely colourful, lyrical, and expressive playing” (Laura Snowden) and seek to engage new audiences through a variety of activities, including commissioning new works, arranging pieces, and collaborating across disciplines.
Their programme, Baila, means “dance” in Spanish, and it is a celebration of global rhythms and dances featuring the music of Astor Piazzolla, Phillip Houghton, Clarice Assad, and world-premiere performances of a new work by Kalaisan Kalaichelvan.
Malamatina perform at the Wellington Heritage Museum, 290 Main Street, Wellington on Sunday April 13th, 2025 at 3 PM. Doors open at 2:30 PM. Click here to purchase tickets.
