In life – if you look, listen and learn – there is always an opportunity for growth. Jennifer Topaz Bruce has come to realize that if you want to see change, you need to be the catalyst. The absence of self-imposed boundaries allows her to free certain parts of herself while painting- “I paint what I feel, the way I choose… and I put it out there for whoever wishes to view it”.
Abstract painting allows Jennifer to express how she sees the world when she closes her eyes. The chaos/order the structure/ebb and flow and most importantly the raw emotion. Her work is unapologetic in nature, she favours bold colours and strong lines.
To see Jennifer’s work in person stop in at iconoclast studio, just a few minutes outside Picton. The studio is a 2018 member of the Arts Trail and PEC Studio Tour.
To get a bit of insight into her process, watch this short video produced by Filmmaker Brian Sword of County Productions.
