“As the woods are the same, the trees standing in their places, the rocks and the earth…they are always different too, as lights and shadows and seasons and moods pass through them.” – Emily Carr
From time immemorial, the serene beauty of the woods has stirred the imaginations of artists. Trees, those silent sentinels that sustain the world, and live hundreds of years longer than us have been imbued with both mystery and magic. Historically, in many cultures the woods even symbolize a connection to mystical beings and the divine. The glorious diversity of woodlands from towering trees to winding streams and tranquil ponds—its rich flora and fauna offers up a wild range of colour, form and texture for the artist to draw inspiration from.
Step into the woods with Oeno Gallery as they offer a collection of fine contemporary artwork created by painters and sculptors, including glass and fibre artists, as well as printmakers, who share their own singular vision of the natural world. On exhibition from April 5th-June 8th, 2025.
Vernissage with artists Peter Hoffer, Sandra Goldie, and Ciba Karisik in attendance on Saturday, April 5th for the opening reception 2 to 4 PM. Artist remarks at 3 PM.
