The Waring House Inn & Restaurant, in partnership with Swell Productions, invites artists and artisans to host a booth representing/selling their works and wares in their ‘Artisan Market’ at the first annual FOLK AND IRISH FESTIVAL – a celebration of Canadian, Celtic, Indigenous and Acadian connections.
Seeking those with preferably Canadian, Celtic, Indigenous and Acadian themed and/or created mediums, in pottery, felting, painting, jewellery, glass blowing, carpentry, photography, weaving, beading and stitchery, to host. Workshops and Demonstrations are welcome!
There is zero vendor cost to participate, and all sales of items stays directly with the vendor. Vendors will be included in select media advertising the event. If a vendor is also providing demonstrations or would like to do a workshop, they will be included in all media, print and web.
The Folk and Irish Festival will be a community event suitable for all ages, and free of admission to all comers. Live music, storytelling, fun activities for children of all ages will guarantee a busy and fun day, and the Waring House will be offering themed meals and vittles, with locally crafted beverage pairings and tastings, and musical events in the evening including a special Irish comedy show.
This call for vendors is for the Festival Day portion of this three-day extravaganza, which is Saturday, June 8th, 2024.
ARTISAN AND MUSICIAN SET UP: 8:30-10:30 AM
FESTIVAL: 11 AM – 5 PM (spillover time 5:30 PM)
TEAR DOWN: 5:30-6:30 PM
ATTENDEES: All ages encouraged and welcome / no pets unless guide dogs
LOCATION: The Waring House, 395 Sandy Hook Rd, Picton
• Interior spaces include acts in the Waring Hall, Barley Room Pub and Amelia’s Garden Room for food and beverage related activities, and live evening entertainment.
• Exterior spaces (Zones) include front lawn and pinery, Amelia’s Garden patio, verandah, and upper field. *Artisan Market location to be determined based on response.
WHAT IS AVAILABLE:
• Reliable electricity, and depending on the reason for usage, a nominal fee may be required.
• Tent shelter if vendors do not have their own tent.
• Washrooms, parking, permits and insurances all covered by the Waring House.
• Wheelchair accessible.
