Véronique Rousseau (she), also known as Viktoria Brave (they), makes artworks and functional objects that engage with the complexities of contemporary life. Currently developing a series of quilts expressing the changes in worldviews necessary to move our culture a sustainable engagement with the environment, their goal is to express and cultivate — in themselves and with others — a greater understanding of the entanglement, multi-dimensionality and diversity inherent to/of our shared fabric-of-existence.
Their interdisciplinary practice includes woodworking, weaving and quilting as well as philosophical writing, reading and dialogues. They ally with queer folks and minorities, as well as other-than-human species, to co-create care~full and response~able communities inclusive of all life~forms and forms~of~life.
