About Tara Wilkinson

Born in Toronto, Ontario, award-winning photographer and visual artist Tara Wilkinson has been taking photographs since she was 11 years old when she won her first camera as a papergirl for The Toronto Star. Tara has studied photography at Centennial College, Ryerson University and Sir Sandford Fleming College’s Haliburton School of the Arts. Extensive travels throughout her career in corporate communications fueled her passion for travel. Tara has photographed in 25 countries … and counting. Since 1998, Tara has had solo exhibitions in Toronto and Prince Edward County. Her exhibition AMORE was part of the 2017 CONTACT Photography Festival in Toronto.

In 2018, Tara launched her “celestial” body of work … Angels Among Us featuring photographs of angel sculptures from Europe, the Caribbean and Canada. A series of prints, photo books, calendars, sketchbooks and greeting cards are available for purchase at Love Nest Studios and The Local Store in Prince Edward County.

Profoundly influenced and inspired by nature, and with a passion for working with natural elements, Tara also handcrafts unique sculptural art nests from fibres, twigs and other found materials. Each nest features a delicious array of fibres, colours and textures, unique in character and spirit. Tara’s nests have been the Featured Art of the Spring ONE OF A KIND SHOW in Toronto. Her fibre art and photography have been juried into photography and arts exhibitions and have won numerous awards and honourable mentions.
