I was born in Québec and am now living and working in Sophiasburgh, Prince Edward County, Ontario. I obtained an Honours Bachelor of Arts – Specialist in Studio from the University of Toronto, in 2014. Primarily through sculptures and installations, my practice explores gender representation, sexuality and beauty spectrums through feminist perspectives. I play with commonly recognized symbols that I shift and hybridize in order for new meanings to emerge. Ultimately, I qualify my practice as a gentle and silky soft act of irreverence towards established institutions and mainstream currents.
My work has been featured in many group shows and selected work has been presented during Scope Miami 2015, Florida, USA. In 2016, I was an artist in residence at Eastside International in Los Angeles, California, USA. Solo shows include exhibitions at Y+ Contemporary Gallery (Toronto, 2016), Gallery on Wade (Toronto, 2016) and Third Space (Fredericton, NB, 2018). My most recent exhibition was a public installation with TRUCK Contemporary (Calgary, Alberta, 2018) within their +15 window programming. My work and practice have been supported by the Toronto Art Council, the Ontario Art Council and the Canada Council for Arts.
I am also the visual half of STRANDS, a multi-disciplinary collaboration project with musician Jasmyn Burke. STRANDS has been featured in many festivals such as Wavelength and Long Winter in Toronto. In 2018, STRANDS was showcased on the main stage at Dundas Square, during NXNE, in Toronto.
