Pierre’s passion is to create glass objects that inspire. Light. Reflection and refraction. He calls “internal landscape” how light enters and plays within a glass body. Mastering the physical demands of the art form involves embracing the natural force of gravity, and all the physical properties of glass, to transform elementary materials into those imaginary objects that the mind construes. Casting, fusing, slumping and cold working glass are all methods he uses.
He completed a science degree (mathematics major), an inter-related arts degree (electroacoustic music major), and a Masters degree in Educational Technology at Concordia University. Pierre’s glass career started in the early 1990’s while a graphic designer using CAD programs. He is mostly self-taught by experimenting and researching technical approaches to glass making. Sculptural, architectural, and decorative glass are his passions.
He co-owns the clay and glass design studio Kosoy+Bouchard with his life partner Michelle Kosoy in Wellington, Prince Edward County. They converted their old barn into a fabulous artist’s studio in 2023. It is known as SilverBarn in the County! Pierre’s work has been exhibited in art galleries and museums in Canada and in the U.S. including the Museum of Arts and Design in New York and the National Liberty Museum in Philadelphia.
