Leslie Fruman is a mixed-media artist. Primarily a ceramic artist, she became interested in abstract expressionism a few years ago while her pottery studio was being renovated. That led to experiments with acrylic painting on canvas and wood, and has moved on to include creating abstract paintings on ceramic canvases, using pottery glazes. She is also making ceramic wall sculptures, enjoying the textures and dimension that allows.
Leslie was a journalist and television producer for 30 years before taking up ceramics, first as a hobby and then as a full-time pursuit. She participated in dozens of juried craft shows over the last 10 years, and works from her studio on Morrison Point Road, overlooking the Black River.
