My main art practice includes drawing, painting and textiles. My style is often whimsical with an intuitive and expressive approach. I have focused on portraiture, although nature has become more dominant.
I am inspired by women, nature, history and costume as persona. Reoccurring themes in my work have been strength, freedom, vulnerability, integrity, overcoming obstacles, hierarchy, communication, fairground attractions and the circus.
My background includes performance art, costume design, hand painting kimonos, upcycling fashion and enameling.
After graduating from the Ontario College of Art and Design where I had the opportunity to study in Florence, Italy, I also was able to travel to the US with my creative pursuits in costume. Today I continue to get inspired by my environment in Prince Edward County!
