Christine Renaud (she/her) is an artist, long distance hiker, and anarchist living on land of the Anishnaabeg, Wendat and Haudenosaunee Peoples in Prince Edward County.
Expanding exploration with various art forms over the years, Christine’s most recent focus has been modern textile art and watercolour. She finds the meditative process of slow stitching both a satisfying process and a coping mechanism to inhabit the larger world, and loves to teach her practices.
Nature inspires both weavings and watercolour painting, while themes that challenge the status quo, including feminism, anti-capitalism and social justice, influence her embroidery designs. She often creates from salvaged materials, sensing the history of recovered elements as a significant element of her work.
