Andie is currently pursing her BDeS in Material Art and Design at the Ontario College of Art and Design University in Toronto. She is a graduate of Centennial Secondary’s Regional School for the Visual and Performing Arts in Belleville, Ontario where she was an Honours Visual Arts major, and recipient of the Governor General’s Academic Medal for the highest overall academic achievement. She was recipient of several scholarships, including County Arts’ Student Arts Scholarship in 2021.
While at Centennial, Andie created a large mural project for the school titled Deep Sea Dreaming and the Creative Wave. This project took several months and over 200 hours to complete. She intentionally designed spaces within the mural so that future students can add their art so that the mural will continue to evolve and be an arts showcase.
Andie has proudly served as the youth representative on PECAC’s Arts Advisory Board (2019-2021). For the past five years, her art has been juried into the Art in the County (AITC) Annual Juried Exhibition and Sale. She is the youngest artist – and the only youth member ever to have been juried into AITC, and her art has also sold at the show.
Now majoring in textiles, her goal is to one day become an entrepreneur/owner of a creative business designing wearable art while developing new and sustainable ways for the fashion industry to reuse materials, minimize demands on our natural resources and reduce industry waste. From painting and drawing, photography and etching, sewing and design and exploring new media … Andie is always experimenting with materials and art forms to bring her ideas to life.
** Youth Artist Members are eligible to submit work to Art in the County. Andie’s work has been juried into Art in the County from 2018-2022.
