Wooden Movements
Artwork by Ed Lehming

Melt Studio and Gallery presents Wooden Movements, a solo exhibition by Ed Lehming. A self-taught fine art photographer based in Picton, Ontario, Ed’s work explores the emotional and textural essence of the natural world. Known for his painterly approach using Intentional Camera Movement (ICM), Ed transforms traditional forest and landscape photography into dynamic, impressionistic compositions that convey the vitality and spirit of nature.

By experimenting with slow shutter speeds, controlled motion, and printing on brushed aluminum, he infuses his images with light, texture, and energy, inviting viewers to feel the moment rather than simply see it. Deeply connected to the landscapes of North-East York Region, Bancroft, and Prince Edward County, Ed’s photography reflects his philosophy of “seeing deliberately” — finding beauty in the ordinary and encouraging mindful observation.

On view in the Format Project Gallery at Melt Gallery from November 21st to December 14th, 2025.

Also opening on November 21st in the Focus Project Gallery is La Luna y La Mar, a solo exhibition by Liane Kelly. Working from her studio in Prince Edward County, Liane Kelly creates ceramic works that celebrate transformation, nature, and emotional rhythm. La Luna y La Mar explores the moon and the sea — the lunar vessels evoke life’s cycles, while ocean-inspired forms echo coral, waves, and seaweed in hues from deep blues to tropical tones. Liane’s global experiences inform her work, capturing the ebb and flow of existence through clay, glaze, and prose.

All are invited to the opening reception for both exhibitions on Saturday, November 22nd, 2025 from 1–4 PM.

Plus, the solo exhibition, Caw-ling by Sonia D’Aloisio is on view in the Main Gallery now until November 23rd, 2025. This deeply moving series of work was inspired by her lifelong connection to birds and one remarkable raven. Her works capture the quiet strength, mystery, and spirit of ravens, crows, and barn owls — each painting a reflection on resilience, connection, and the beauty that endures. All are invited to attend the Opening Reception for Caw-ling on Saturday November 1st, 2025 from 1 -4 PM. The artist will be in attendance.

Melt Studio + Gallery is located at 343 County Road 22, Barrack 3 at Base31, Picton, Ontario. Gallery open Friday, Saturday and Sunday noon-5 PM. meltstudiogallery.com
