Winterfest
Lenny Epstein and Gavin North of Short Attention Spa perform with puppets of their likenesses at 2023’s Winterfest

Several Prince Edward County organizations and individuals have banded together to create the second annual Winterfest, an afternoon of winter fun, Saturday, February 10th, 2024 from 12-3 PM at London Avenue Park (26 London Avenue) on the Heights in Picton. This pop-up party in the park is completely free and all are welcome to attend this all-ages community celebration. The event is led by arts organizations The Department of Illumination and The Baxter Arts Centre in partnership with Prince Edward Learning Centre and Greater Than County Youth Collective.

The afternoon will include free lunch from Feed Me Love, spearheaded by Heights’ resident Chef Andrew Johnston, alongside community member Sharon Hart. Word on the street is that chili and cornbread are on the menu, but who knows what other delicious treats might be in store? County Kids Read will be distributing free books for kids, and Prince Edward Public Library will be hosting story time. Two of the County’s tallest residents will be making an appearance: comedy duo Short Attention Spa, with an improv performance with giant puppets! There will be Snow Pants Yoga led by Kelly Cade and an assortment of fun and games by The Department of Illumination and Baxter Arts Centre. Winterfest is also supported by Thrive PEC, the Picton and Bloomfield/Hallowell Recreation Committees, Base31, Picton Home Hardware and Dunrose Distribution.

In case of bad weather, a rain date has been scheduled for February 17.
