Say Something, Sew Something
Saturday, September 21st, 2024, 10 AM – 3 PM
At this workshop and artist talk in partnership with Gather in the County, Picton’s new modern textile market, break the rules of embroidery with Barbara Klunder as she guides you through the process of advancing your own designs and shows you the painterly potential of working with embroidery threads in unusual ways. Participants are asked to bring embroidery hoops, scissors, a garment to work with (preferably linen, cotton or silk), and a variety of coloured embroidery thread – the more the better. Barbara is also asking participants to bring an issue or idea to the workshop to encourage craftivism in the practice to create works that add to the greater good.
Open to all levels, ages 18+. $74 + HST & fees. Bring a bag lunch or visit neighbouring cafe, Luso Bites. Space is limited, register HERE.
