99.3 County FM’s The County Grapevine (Monday edition), is pleased to announce that Rosemary Sadlier, renowned author, advocate and consultant, will be hosting a segment of the program on Mondays throughout Black History Month.
As a University of Toronto alumna, Rosemary Sadlier led the way to have Black History Month recognized across Canada in 1995. Her tireless efforts as volunteer president of the Ontario Black History Society to expand awareness and educate Canadians culminated in being honoured with the Order of Ontario for her work. Black History Month in February and Emancipation Day on August 1st were declared national events thanks to Sadlier and the Ontario Black History Society.
As an accomplished writer, Sadlier has authored numerous books on topics ranging from the Underground Railroad to Mary Ann Shadd, the first Black female newspaper editor in North America. She collaborated with the Historica Foundation of Canada to create a Black History Portal, and she regularly gives lectures on Black history throughout Canada and around the world.
The series will air each Monday in February. The County Grapevine can be heard weekdays on 99.3 County FM following the news at noon and repeated after the 6:10 PM farm report. It is available for streaming on www.993countyfm.ca
