Presented by Oeno Gallery, hard edge meets street art in Resolution, an exhibition of bold abstract paintings by Montreal-born artist Sylvain Louis-Seize. His paintings call on the minimalist aesthetic of Montreal’s Guido Molinari, but pull on Louis-Seize’s roots in the brash language of street art. Overlapping, dynamic shapes in dazzling colours are chosen and arranged like a puzzle in a measured process requiring patience, introspection. His works form a liberated narrative in which the rigorous tenets of historical minimalism no longer apply. A catalogue accompanies the exhibition.
Opening reception is on October 12 from 3-5PM. The exhibition runs until November 10 at Oeno Gallery, 2274 County Road 1, Bloomfield.
