The 7th annual Quinte en Plein Air is a four-day event presented by the Quinte Arts Council, where emerging and established artists leave their studios behind to paint and showcase their work outdoors. Artists have the opportunity to capture the beautiful images of historic downtown Belleville, the shores of the Bay of Quinte, the famous ‘Old East Hill,’ the Moira River, and numerous other painting locations in the Quinte region.
Artists have between 9:30 AM on May 26 to 2 PM on May 28 to create and submit up to two works for consideration by esteemed judges, both established plein air artists.
This event is a juried competition open to artists working in various mediums such as watercolour, acrylic, soft pastel and oil. Click here to learn more and register to participate in this unique one-of-a-kind event, celebrating Quinte en plein air!
The energy and excitement of the festival culminates in a closing ceremony and awards presentation on Sunday May 29 at the Parrott Gallery, where judges will award prizes totalling over $5,000. All are welcome to attend. Art lovers are encouraged to visit The Plein Air Exhibit from May 29 to June 25.
Please note: the event will take place rain or shine. There are no refunds.
