Encaustic Painting

Artscene August 2021 Edition

Encaustic Painting

Andrew Csafordi, artist, instructor and co-owner of ANDARA Gallery, is pleased to offer his popular one and two-day Encaustic Painting Workshops.

Encaustic painting is fun and easy, using natural melted beeswax and oil paint mixed in for colour. A very friendly medium, the fast drying time allows participants to create captivating works that will ignite their imagination. Liquid wax is applied to a wooden surface with brushes. Layers are gently fused using heat, resulting in a luminescent painting. Relax and be inspired while painting in a casual studio environment in the tranquil countryside – the results will delight and surprise you and beginners are welcome!

Andrew has partnered with The County Picnic to provide delicious picnic lunches for all workshop participants! Picnics are made with 100% local, gourmet products made right here in the County. All picnics include a gourmet sandwich, artisanal soft drink, and individual graze boxes with cheese, charcuterie, dips and accoutrements, fresh seasonal produce and dessert. Vegetarian and vegan options are also available.

The One-Day Encaustic Painting Workshop fee is $750 per person and the Two-Day Encaustic Painting Workshop fee is $1,400 per person (plus HST). Fee includes professional instruction by Andrew Csafordi, a workbook, all materials, a picnic lunch from The County Picnic for each workshop day, light refreshments and snacks.
