Elevate the Song

Join Instant Rivalry‘s lead singer-songwriter Megan Hutton for a 6-week songwriting workshop! This course is for anyone – including beginner to professional writers and musicians – interested in learning how to write a song or taking their songwriting skills to the next level. A background in music or creative writing is helpful, but not required. Through a combination of formal instruction, engaging exercises, collaborative songwriting circles, and customized feedback, participants will gain and practice fundamental songwriting skills; learn how to navigate various stages and challenges in the songwriting process – from demo recording and copyrighting to writer’s block and more; and build a songwriting practice that works for their unique style and voice. They will leave with new connections, energy, and focus – and a new song!

Classes will be held at the County Arts Lab, Unit 1G, at the Picton Armoury Building on Thursdays from 4:15-6:15 PM starting March 3 until April 7.
