Diane M Cole is captivated by the possibilities of abstract mixed media. Countless studio hours are spent building one-of-a-kind collections of hand printed papers, created through mono printing, hand carved linocut blocks and mark making. They are sorted by value, hue and texture, cut to specific shapes, and layered intuitively alongside acrylic paint, graphite, charcoal, inks and subtle washes.
Diane has studied with the late Franklin (Archie) Arbuckle, OSA, RCA, in Killarney, Ontario, Kato Wake at Baxter Arts Centre in Bloomfield and online, and at the Haliburton School of Art and Design. A former member of the Willowdale Group of Artists, she was awarded “Honorable Mention” at a juried show by the late and distinguished artist/juror Doris McCarthy. Locally, her work has been juried into Art in the County and she is currently a guest artist at Arts on Main Gallery.
See Diane’s work in-person October 9-10 in Arts on Main’s pop-up exhibition Giving Thanks Giving at The Waring House, Picton.
