County Adaptation Film Festival 2025

Artscene September 2025 Edition

County Adaptation Film Festival 2025
The Regent Theatre, home of the County Adaptation Film Festival.

Discover the art of storytelling transformed at the County Adaptation Film Festival (CAFF) and step into a world where stories leap from the page, the stage, and history itself onto the big screen. Held each September, CAFF is a bold celebration of creative transformation—where adaptations take centre stage and the journey from inspiration to cinema is honoured in all its forms. From literary classics to graphic novels, memoirs to music, CAFF showcases compelling films that reinterpret original works through a cinematic lens.

The festival opens with Mike Flanagan’s film, The Life of Chuck, based on the Stephen King novella starring Tom Hiddleston, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Karen Gillan, Jacob Tremblay and Mark Hamill. Winner of the TIFF People’s Choice Award, the film is an unforgettable, genre-bending tale that celebrates the life of Charles ‘Chuck’ Krantz as he experiences the wonder of love, the heartbreak of loss, and the multitudes contained in all of us.

The 2025 festival takes place from September 26th-28th, and will feature six films and two special conversations. The full schedule can be found on CAFF’s website – countyadaptationfilmfest.ca. Festival passes ($75) are available, and single tickets go on sale on September 2nd, 2025.
