Belleville Downtown DocFest

Artscene March 2022 Edition

Belleville Downtown DocFest
Still from Fruits of Labour, directed by Ophelia Spinosa, showing at this year’s Belleville Downtown DocFest in the Canadian Film category.

Belleville Downtown DocFest is back for its 11th Annual Festival, celebrating film, music, art, and resilience with a complete online film festival experience.

Beginning March 4, the Opening Gala will begin with the award-nominated film, Rockfield: The Studio on the Farm, a star-filled documentary about rock ‘n roll’s first legendary residential recording studio directed by Hannah Berryman, a Golden Rose nominee. Following the Gala film, attendees will be treated to performances by Four Lanes Wide, a straight-up classic rock band based in Peterborough. Four Lanes Wide will mix hits from the Gala film with covers of greats like CCR, The Allman Brothers, Eric Clapton, and Led Zeppelin along with their own original music.

Attendees can also catch Fruits of Labour directed by County Arts Member Ophelia Spinosa, which shines light on the philosophy of winemaking as an art-form that her father adopts and learns in Prince Edward County. This film, along with over 50 others, will be available to view until the end of DocFest on March 13.

A variety of passes from single ticket ($13) to bundled ticket packs ($65-$100) can be purchased on Belleville Downtown DocFest’s website.
