Ophelia Spinosa is an Italian-Canadian emerging director and producer, based in Montreal and Milford, Ontario. She is a recent graduate of Concordia University’s Film Production program. Ophelia’s work has been recognized through awards like the James Shavick Documentary Award, Prince Edward County Arts Council Student Arts Award, Oeno Gallery Arts Scholarship, and upcoming showcases like Telefilm’s Not Short on Talent at Clermont Ferrand.
Her work combines themes of family, labour, and spirituality into poetic images, and her films have toured both Canada and the United States. She is currently partnered with SPIRA for the distribution of her most recent documentary. Moving forward, Ophelia is conceptualizing two short films, one experimental documentary and one narrative.
