Recently relocating from Toronto, Amanda Smith has over 15 years experience working as a product developer, creative director, graphic artist and surface pattern designer. She now lives and works from the shores of Lake Ontario as a freelance designer in Prince Edward County.
Amanda enjoys working on personal projects as well as collaborating with businesses and brands to create custom artwork. She creates art that is translated into a wide variety of products ranging from cushions, bedding, home decor and housewares to apparel, accessories and stationery, working with dozens of brands to bring these unique items and product lines to life. Brands and retailers include Roots Canada, Target, Snugabye, Bluenotes, Aeropostale, Scotties, 3M, House & Home, General Supply Goods + Co., Staples and more.
Amanda will lead a brand new County Arts Lab Kids Creation Club this month! Young designers ages 5-12 will learn about shapes and motifs, repetition, and the basics of the elements of design through various surface design activities. Amanda will guide participants on an exploration of drawing, painting, hand-dying and block printing/stamping all as ways of creating surface design. Over the 5-week course, participants will have the chance to make their own patterns and designs on paper, fabric, and more! Registration is open now.
