Art at the Heart of Picton Project & Placemaking Strategy
In 2024, we carried out the Art at the Heart of Picton project with the aim of enhancing arts events in the County Arts Lab – our home on the Main Street level of the Picton Armoury and helping promote Main Street Picton as an arts and culture destination, driving more resident and visitor traffic to all of our offerings.
The main deliverable was a new arts-focused Placemaking Strategy for Picton (below), with the full-roll out including the new Art at the Heart of Picton branding package and Referral program highlighted above. Click here for a PDF version of the Placemaking Strategy.
Due to the parameters of the My Main Street funding, this was a pilot project restricted to activities in proximity to our Picton Main Street location. We hold high hopes for its potential to serve as a model for future initiatives in Prince Edward County more broadly, and other rural Main Streets in the County and beyond.
