Walking the Poem: A Poetry Workshop

Join poet and writing teacher Stuart Ross for a supportive, relaxed (but productive) one-day workshop that focuses on creating new works in new ways and then exploring the possibilities of these texts. Write poems that both please and bewilder you!

Everyone is welcome – this workshop is for beginners and experienced poets, and anyone in between.

Stuart Ross has published over twenty books of fiction, poetry, and personal essays, as well as scores of chapbooks. His most recent books are the memoir The Book of Grief and Hamburgers, winner of the 2023 Trillium Book Award, and the short story collection I am Claude Francois and You are a Bathtub. His latest poetry publications include, The Sky Is a Sky in the Sky, published in 2024, and Motel of the Opposable Thumbs and the chapbook A Very Little Street. Stuart received the 2019 Harbourfront Festival Prize, the 2017 Canadian Jewish Literary Award for Poetry, and the 2010 Relit Award for Short Fiction. He has been writer in residence at Queen’s University and the University of Ottawa, has mentored at the Banff Centre for the Arts, and teaches poetry at University of Toronto School of Continuing Studies.
