The Radiator Collective presents Jennifer Castle with Lisa Bozikovic, in Picton’s new beautiful event space at The Andrew for a night of transformative and introspective live music. Jennifer Castle is a Canadian songwriter and musician based in Toronto. She will be joined by local talent Lisa Bozikovic opening up the night.
Camelot, Castle’s extraordinary, moving chronicle of the artist in early middle age, charts a realer place than the legendary Camelot of the British Early Middle Ages, but it too is a space more psychic than physical. In Camelot, the fantastic interpenetrates the mundane, and the Grail, if there is one, distills everyday experience into art and art into faith, subliming terrestrial concerns into sublime celestial prayers to Mother Nature, and to the unfolding process of perfecting imperfection in one’s own nature: “Back in Camelot / I really learned a lot / circles in the crops and / sky-high geometry …”
Lisa Bozikovic is a Prince Edward County based songwriter, social worker/psychotherapist, and community engaged artist. Her songwriting explores introspective narratives with evocative turns of phrase, while her nuanced delivery magnifies each emotional dip and swerve. She creates orchestration that ebbs and flows with quietly ornate moments – a riot of strings here, a whimsical Moog solo there. Lisa is excited to be working on new material, collaborating with her rich community of artist friends in Prince Edward County. For this show, she will be joined by Heather Kirby (electric guitar) and Alex Whyte (trombone).
Sunday, June 8th, 2025 at 31 King Street, Picton. Doors open at 7 PM, show at 7:30 PM. Tickets are $35 on Eventbrite or $40 at the door.
