Botanical Papermaking with Joanne Rich

Join papermaker Joanne Rich, in-person and hands-on to learn the 2,000 year old art and techniques of Eastern papermaking using hand-made tools and locally grown plants. During this workshop you will learn how to harvest, cook, beat plant fibres into pulp, form into sheets, and finally dry your own hand-made paper.

For ages 15+, Sunday October 22nd from 10 AM-5 PM. Since this is a full-day workshop, we recommend wearing comfortable shoes since you may be standing for long periods, and feel free to either bring a lunch (we have a fridge and a microwave) or purchase lunch from our Armoury neighbours Luso Bites! The Lunch break will be 45 minutes.

This workshop is presented in partnership with South Shore Joint Initiative, to bring awareness to the conservation efforts they do at Prince Edward County’s beautiful south shore. For an optional chance to gather milkweed for the workshop from the South Shore sign up for their October Stroll here on Saturday October 21st at 9 AM.
