I have drawn since childhood – since I could hold a pencil. Upon graduation with honours from Beal School of Art in London, Ontario, my career path took me into television news. For the first few years I worked as an illustrator in the news department. Forty-two years were spent in television behind and in front of the camera, cartooning and illustrating throughout. During that time, I wrote and illustrated two books, which are found at www.terryculbert.ca.
Today, I am a full-time painter, creating alongside my life partner, Barbara Högenauer, in our in-house studio-gallery Prince Edward’s County Studio. Utilizing my drawing skills and my love for colour, my works vary from whimsical to almost illustrative. Each canvas tells a story, often humorous, always bold – my paintings reflect my personality.
