About Stacey Robb

Stacey Robb has lived and travelled in various areas within Canada, always coming back to her rural hometown area of Wilton, Ontario and her familial connections to Wolfe Island, Ontario. She paints landscapes and flora using watercolours in a more abstracted manner trying to convey the peaceful, calm connectedness that she feels to the landscape in and around the areas where she has lived and visited.

Stacey’s formal education is as a research Biologist in freshwater ecology and in Education. After spending numerous years of research and hours making observations of nature in the environment around her, she is trying to bring her love of these areas to her audience through her art.

Stacey has been an educator for over 30 years and although she has no formal visual arts training, she is a keen life-long learner who is full of creativity and curiosity. It was in the fall of 2023 that Stacey decided she was ready to start sharing her artwork with the world! She put more time and effort into developing a website (SRobbCreativeStudio.com) and greater presence on Instagram and Facebook (links below), showing her art and artistic process.

In addition to the Prince Edward County Arts Council, Stacey is a member of several arts collectives and organizations, including: The Hive Artist Collective in Bath, Ontario, where you can find her in the studio on Tuesdays as well as a few of her paintings; the Quinte Arts Council; Greater Napanee and Area Arts Association (GNAAA); and the Thousand Islands Fine Art Association (TIFAA).

Stacey’s watercolour artwork was juried into the 2024 spring GNAAA annual art show with over 40 local artists and 80 submissions and won 3rd prize overall.

Stacey has and will be showing at a variety of juried art shows in 2024 including: Stoney Steps Art Festival, Newburgh; 2024 Lennox & Addington Studio Tour as a guest artist at stop #6 with Joanne Kells, Napanee; the 2024 PEC Studio Tour as a guest artist at stop #21 with Diane Cole, West Lake; Art in the Sawmill, Verona; Women’s Art Fest in City Park, Kingston; 1000 Islands Art Festival, Gananoque; and the Bath Art Festival sponsored by the Hive.

Stacey’s landscapes and flora art pieces use not only transparent but also granulating watercolours to convey naturalized elements within the scene.  She works hard to allow the watercolours to flow and works with the painting by stepping back and allowing the paint to “do its thing” allowing the raw beauty of a scene to shine through.  Stacey’s pieces that she shares are chosen based on their energy, spirit and aliveness.
