My family has lived in a Farmhouse in the County since 2001. Our barn foundation is the recipient of 4 large as life mosaics, (2017-2021) though my favourites mosaic creations are the life size record album covers (2022-2025) that everyone knows and loves. I have ceramic tiled many bathrooms/kitchens of my own and that is how I became comfortable with this medium. My husband is very supportive in that he cuts wood sizes and prepares surfaces for me, along with offering encouragement/suggestions and chatting up my work. Bless him.
Seems I have always been creating something. I went through a phase of creating pen and ink drawings of Belleville churches and historical homes (which I marketed for wedding invitations), a phase of quilt-making, and currently, along with the mosaic making, I have learned to do Nalbinding which is a form of “Viking knitting.” I joke that everyone I know will have a Nalbinded hat before I die.
