About PEC Jazz Festival

Now in its 24th year, the Prince Edward County Jazz Festival celebrates excellence in jazz performance and education. Building on the accomplishments and talent of those who have gone before, the Jazz Festival has grown from a small annual August festival in Picton to a multi-faceted Incorporated Charitable Organization. With a year-round presence, the PEC Jazz Festival offers high quality performances throughout the County and promotes appreciation and public understanding of jazz and advances musical education for students and young musicians.

The PEC Jazz Festival is one of the most highly respected mainstream jazz festivals in Canada, featuring award-winning Canadian and international jazz artists. Many of North America’s biggest stars have performed at the main stage venues.  In addition to the main stage concerts, numerous jazz festival performances are hosted around the County during the August festival. Wineries, restaurants, cideries, art galleries and churches are among the venues participating, providing performance opportunities for local musicians in addition to the established stars.

The PEC Jazz Festival is a not-for-profit charitable organization run by volunteers. It’s ongoing presence is the result of robust community support from committed and enthusiastic volunteers, musicians, major sponsors, local businesses and a jazz-loving audience, all who share a passion for this vibrant musical art form.
