About Nancy Kay

I have played with a lot of mediums in my lifetime. I was fortunate to be gifted a mother who was a crafter, antique dealer and craft instructor. We’ve done a lot knitting, sewing, gluing, painting, restoring, quilting, rug hooking – the list is endless. As an adult, I have knit, sewed and restored many things for friends and family. While living in Scarborough I took a wood carving course through the Cedar Ridge Creative Centre and attended a Willow Bench workshop with Maggie Longworth in Gooderham, Ontario.

Since I have moved to P.E.C., I have been introduced to pottery, first by Liane Kelly and later joining Cheryl Belsey of the Ontario Street Pottery Studio and meeting wonderful people at their craft. I have taken courses with Andrea Piller and was introduced to more techniques. I have also taken an encaustic painting workshop with Andrew Csafordi and I’m still dabbling with that. I’m always looking for new techniques as I really enjoy combining mediums to express the world I see.
