About Marjorie Cluett Seguin

I am a painter and writer who lives on Wellers Bay in Prince Edward County. I attended York University and the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, graduating with degrees in Fine Art and Art Education. I later moved with my family to the County, and we raised our children here.

I paint in oils and in watercolour, and draw in various media. Locally I exhibit in occasional group shows, and in solo shows organized independently. My artwork and writing are seen in the work of Two Fishes Press, founded in Prince Edward County in 2005. Our books are sold at twofishespress.ca, and at Books & Company in Picton.

Art teaching has been a significant part of my lifelong artistic engagement, with ventures including early full-time art-teaching positions in Newfoundland and in Toronto, at both the elementary and secondary levels, and the co-founding of a community arts school in west-end Toronto. In Prince Edward County my teaching has included foundation drawing classes through Loyalist College, art workshops with children, and watercolour and mixed-media classes for adults. While my art teaching began in the classroom, I particularly enjoy small group and private art instruction, with both children and adults.
