How far back should we go? Growing up a kid in the 80’s in Oshawa, Ontario, my first medium was tri-colour Bic pen on computer paper my dad brought home from GM. I also used the same paper to play “office.” Art and commerce right? I generally work in oil on canvas these days, though pen and paper will always have a place in my heart.
While I studied graphic design at Seneca College, I’ve always considered myself to be a self-taught artist. The artists I enjoy the most are constantly evolving and I think my aesthetic is much the same. I am as much influenced by my environment as I am imagining someplace else. For the most part, the solo and group art shows I’ve participated in have been self organized. I’ve been fortunate to have my work featured in many private collections in Canada and the United States.
Like so many in the past year, my life was somewhat uprooted due to the covid-19 pandemic. Moving from downtown Toronto to the outskirts of Picton, Ontario, I consider myself fortunate to be able to “work from home” and re-organize my schedule to have a little more time for art.
