Heather spent the majority of her career as a foliage artist; designing and building gardens in Toronto, occasionally dabbling in the written word. Since moving to Prince Edward County in 2010, Heather has focused on her poetry writing and published her first chapbook, The Altar of Belonging, in 2024. Her latest venture, The Poetry Barn, hosts poetry workshops and readings.
Heather was shortlisted (2022) and longlisted (2023) in the Wind and Water Writing Contest held by the Prince Edward County Arts Council.
She was the feature poet in Alchemy Artist Residency in Prince Edward County in 2022, at Thyme Again Gardens and in 2024, at Lacey Estates.
Heather studied poetry at the University of Toronto and has attended workshops and craft talks with poets such as; Padraig O’Tuama, Ellen Bass, and Kim Addonizio. Heather’s poems Vimy and How Far We’ve Come, were published in The Wellington Times.
Currently Heather is working on her second poetry collection to be published in 2025/26.
