About Festival Players

Festival Players of Prince Edward County is a performing arts company, located in the lakeside Village of Wellington, nestled on the shores of Lake Ontario, with a view of the largest freshwater dunes in the world at Sandbanks. In the heart of Prince Edward County’s exciting new wine industry, Wellington is a warm and welcoming working village.

Our mandate is to offer professional Canadian theatre experiences that are relevant, sophisticated, engaging and entertaining. Our vision is to enrich Prince Edward County with the power of live theatre; theatre that is deeply rooted in the fabric of the community and inspires creativity, gathering, exchange of ideas and pride of place.

Founded in 2006, we have produced and presented work by some of Canada’s finest theatre artists. Productions have taken place in a century-old barn, under a tent in an estate vineyard, in a village church turned-theatre, in a pop-up storefront theatre, and on the beautiful properties of many of the County’s finest agricultural and hospitality businesses. We serve a diverse community of local Prince Edward County/Bay of Quinte residents as well as summer visitors to our region known for its wineries and beaches.

Festival Players has long been one of the County’s signature cultural events demonstrating consistent growth in tourist attendance and visitation over the past years. Our vision is that Prince Edward County will be a nationally-recognized hub of professional performing arts activity, including theatre, art and creation. Artists and audiences will gather in The County to be inspired by its beauty, vitality and creative spirit.
