I’m inspired by the pop art movement from Warhol to James Rosenquist, recontextualizing everyday objects and harnessing visuals from advertising, animation and found objects.
Working as an illustrator for over three decades allowed me to explore different media and subject matter. I have worked digitally, but my work as a painter allows a return to producing something tangible, something authentic.
My work plays with pattern and form, a reflection of technology (robots), consumerism (toys) and nature. I’m inspired by M. C. Escher, as someone who wasn’t a mathematician, but had an innate understanding of models and systems.
