About Bark Woodshop

Mike’s journey as a woodworker began as a child, watching his great uncle, a Master Carpenter, work in his woodshop in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Fascinated by the tools and the process of turning raw wood into functional and artistic objects, Mike began spending more time in his uncle’s woodshop.

Over the years, Mike honed his skills and developed his style, drawing inspiration from wood’s natural beauty and textures. He experimented with different types of wood, shaping them into intricate designs highlighting each piece’s unique characteristics.

Eventually, Mike decided to turn his love of woodworking into a career and opened Bark Woodshop & Studio. Today, he creates custom furniture and other wooden objects that are functional and beautiful for your home. Clean lines, elegant curves, and a deep respect for the natural beauty of wood characterize his work.

Through his passion for woodworking, Mike has developed a deep connection to the natural world and a profound respect for the beauty and complexity of wood. His unique and beautifully crafted pieces have found homes in countries around the world, bringing joy and beauty to people’s lives no matter where they are.

Nestled in the picturesque countryside of Prince Edward County, Mike, and his wife Susan, accompanied by their two friendly golden retrievers, Katie and Molly, joyfully welcome visitors to their Wood Studio, a serene oasis where creativity and nature intertwine.
