Alyssa Bardy is a self-taught natural light photographer, visual storyteller, language student, mother, and wife. Her work is a quiet witnessing of motherhood, Indigenous reconnection, nationhood, and the sacred bond between people and the Natural World. Birds often guide her lens, symbols of kinship and memory.
Through photography, Alyssa creates a visual language for herself, her children, and future generations, one that honours the brilliance of both culture and creation.
She is Upper Cayuga of Six Nations of the Grand River and a member of the Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte, where she lives with her family.
