Born in Montreal, Alan grew up in an urban setting while enjoying summers at a rudimentary cottage in the Laurentian Mountains where he gained a true appreciation of nature. He completed a two-year program in the arts plastique training at Dawson College in 1980 and a BA, Specializing in Communications at Concordia University in 1983.
Relocating to Toronto, he then spent the next 30+ years working in sales and marketing, rising to director level at two multi-national food companies, followed by several successful entrepreneurial start-ups in the natural foods industry.
All along, he maintained his painting skills with the last twenty years being a more prolific period, having generated a diverse portfolio of landscapes, wildlife, still life and more playful pop art using oil and acrylic mediums. Over the years, he has exhibited his works at The Propeller Gallery in Toronto.
Alan has had a strong connection with Price Edward County, vacationing at his parent’s hobby farm in Milford since 1984, and he moved permanently to Picton about 8 years ago. Much of his recent works are those of local landscapes.
