The opening weekend of the annual Wellington Art Walk takes place on Saturday and Sunday June 7th and 8th, 2025 from 10 AM – 5 PM at 10 participating artist studios and galleries throughout Wellington. This is the not-to-be-missed weekend where artists’ studios and galleries open up to arts lovers for the summer and for the rest of the year by appointment or at set times.
With two galleries and 8 artists participating, there is so much to see, including paintings on canvas, wood and tile that (both representational and abstract), ceramics, glassworks and repurposed art. This years’ participating artists/galleries are:
Dayna Law
Renee Hiltz
Armstrong Glassworks (Mark Armstrong)
Pamela Carter
The Spotted Zebra Studio (Judy Taylor)
Michelle Kosoy & Pierre Bouchard
County Rust
Sybil Frank Gallery
Sidestreet Gallery
Carol Gander
The cover of this years’ brochure is a painting by the late County-based artist Margaret McFetridge with a dedication to her, which reads: “Margaret McFetridge, who created the painting for our cover, was the beautiful, funny, zenmaster glue that brought the Wellington Artists together, initiated our Art Walks and other events, and inspired us at every gathering with her beaming smile and crazy humour. We miss her dearly.”
